Works under the general supervision of the Clinical Coordinator Assistant Director of Surgical Services. The operating Room Assistant assists nursing staff in the delivery of individual patient care for patients assigned to the Unit, according to unit policies and procedures. Maintains standards of nursing practice, in accordance with the mission, values and philosophy of St. Alexius Medical Center. All the criteria-based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to the policies, procedures and guidelines of the Medical Center.
Responsibilities
Performs duties as delegated by OR Charge RN and reports back when tasks are completed.
Provides a safe, quiet environment.
Practices good infection control; maintains Universal Precautions.
Assists in keeping Operating Rooms clean orderly and well stocked.
Reports defective equipment to supervisor; transports to Bio-Med after appropriate paperwork has been completed.
Transports patients, verifying identity and correct location.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school student, graduate or equivalent.
Experience: No previous experience required.
Pay Range
$14.82 - $20.38 /hour
