Catholic Health Initiatives Radiologic Technologist in The Woodlands, Texas

Overview

As a Radiologic Technologist II under the direction of the Medical Director you will perform technical diagnostic imaging procedures and explaining pre and post diagnostic procedures to patients.

Every day you will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures and educate patients on the imaging services being received.

The Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.

This role is PRN schedule to work weekdays, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director. Obtains and documents patient history.

  • Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards. Performs periodic QA and Ensures requisite documentation.

  • Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before/during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards.

  • Demonstrates competency in the PACS process and performs the daily PACS QA process and requirements.

  • Communications with Nursing, Physicians, Patient Care Assistants, Laboratory staff, administrative staff, other diagnostic areas and departments to ensure that the patients receive their diagnostic procedures in a smooth, efficient and safe manner.

  • Performs portable examinations when applicable at the bedside to ensure patient safety as well as provide immediate diagnostic testing when needed.

  • Ensures that patient orientation, patient preparation (including starting IV’s and drawing labs as necessary), and patient teaching is provided prior, during and following the test completion.

  • Completes exams in RIS system for accurate billing. Communicates when corrections are needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s Degree Required

  • Licensure/Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R); must maintain currentCertified by Texas Department of Health as Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist – MRT; must maintain currentCPR/BLS certification

  • Minimum Experience: One (1) year of experience

Pay Range

$29.16 - $42.28 /hour
