Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, a leading healthcare system dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care, is seeking a passionate and skilled Clinical Data Scientist to join our innovative team.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive impactful research and analysis: Leverage your expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization to uncover hidden patterns and trends within our vast clinical data.

  • Develop predictive models: Build and refine models that anticipate patient needs, optimize resource allocation, and enhance clinical decision-making.

  • Collaborate with clinicians and researchers: Partner with healthcare professionals to translate data insights into practical solutions that improve patient outcomes and enhance care delivery.

  • Champion data-driven innovation: Lead the development and implementation of data-driven initiatives that advance our mission of providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (BS in mathematics, statistics, health services research, informatics, epidemiology or research-oriented MPH) and three years of related work experience in quantitative data analysis, including one year in a healthcare context.

  • Master’s degree and experience working with industry standard clinical quality measures and pay-for-performance metrics (e.g. HEDIS, NQF, PQRS, MACRA-MIPS, CMS/Joint Commission eCQM, etc.) and development/application of predictive analytics (e.g. developing and validating machine learning algorithms) are strongly preferred.

  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Possesses strong analytical skills with a proven track record of applying statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to real-world problems.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools like R, Python, SQL, and SAS.

  • Is passionate about using data to improve healthcare and has a strong understanding of the healthcare landscape.

Pay Range

$42.51 - $61.64 /hour
