Catholic Health Initiatives Lab Coordinator in Sherwood, Arkansas

Overview

As our Lab Coordinator at CHI St Vincent Little Rock, you will help solve mysteries as to what’s ailing a patient and get us one step closer to successfully treating that illness or injury. You will perform a variety of technical analyses, verify results and assure quality and accuracy of tests under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor(s), Laboratory Manager(s), Laboratory Administrative Director, and Laboratory Medical Director (Pathologist). You’ll build trust in all your interactions through your professionalism and work ethic.

CHI St Vincent Infirmary is a 600 bed faith-based, non-profit, acute care facility providing quality health care to patients and communities from all over the State of Arkansas. Responsibilities

  1. Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics

versees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions

  1. Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes

3.Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables

  1. Selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results

  2. Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system

  3. Enrollment and participation in an HHS approved proficiency testing program commensurate with the services offered

  4. Establishing a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and establishing the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensuring that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results

  5. Resolving technical problems and ensuring that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications

  6. Ensuring that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly

  7. Identifying training needs and assuring that each individual performing tests receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA.

Minimum of five years as a MT/CLS at a moderate or high complexity laboratory.

One year experience as a supervisor or higher, preferred

Pay Range

$29.02 - $42.08 /hour
