Responsibilities

Using subject matter expertise works in partnership with leadership and staff to translate nursing requirements into specifications for nursing information systems; evaluates the impact the information systems have on user workflow; identifies workflow and process changes that will enhance the use of nursing and clinical information systems.

Provides mechanisms for soliciting ongoing input from users; provides opportunities for users to verbalize concerns and suggest potential improvements related to the use of nursing systems. Responds to and follows up with staff concerns in a timely manner.

Supports staff to use technology in a manner that promotes patient safety.

Participates in interdisciplinary process improvement teams to identify potential improvements in the current use of the systems and potential future uses of the information systems.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the field of Nursing and Healthcare Informatics, as well as new developments in hardware and software technology. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory standards, and organizational direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.

  • Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington required.

  • Broad knowledge of overall hospital operations; strong knowledge of nursing workflow, practice standards, clinical documentation requirements; strong knowledge of information technology security and confidentiality requirements, JCAHO accreditation standards, and state requirements.

  • Strong computer skills; strong organizational skills; skill in retrieving, analyzing, summarizing and presenting information effectively; strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work through issues in a tactful and professional manner; skill in establishing priorities and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Five years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Pay Range

$40.58 - $58.84 /hour
