Responsibilities

About This Position :

Respiratory Care Practitioners have knowledge of pharmacy anatomy and physiology and make judgments in consultation with a physician and other members of the health care team with regard to the respiratory care that patients receive. Provides respiratory care to patients of all ages. Demonstrates proficient technical skills in the performance of respiratory therapies utilized in all patient care areas including critical care and or Nursery/L&D. Demonstrates a working knowledge of current trends in respiratory therapies; specialty technical standards equipment supplies; safety principles and practices. Demonstrates ability to take on shift leader responsibilities as required with some level of supervision from Department Supervisor. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Demonstrates competency in Neonatal Pediatric and Adult Intubations and resuscitations. Demonstrates competency in advance modes of Ventilation including High Frequency Ventilation and Conventional Neonatal Ventilation. Establishes effective working relationships with other departments medical staff and co-workers.

Selection Criteria:

Two (2) years experience or RRT with one (1) year experience. A minimum of one-year experience in critical care and ventilator management preferred. Current California License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner CRT. Successful completion of Adult and Neonatal Intubation Classes and ACLS/PALS/NRP Certification.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years experience or RRT with one (1) year experience.

  • A minimum of one-year experience in critical care and ventilator management preferred.

  • Current California License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner CRT.

  • CPR/ACLS/PALS/NRP Certification.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$47.64 - $58.65 /hour
