Responsibilities

About This Position

In keeping with the Marian Medical Care health care philosophy the Certified Phlebotomy Technician Level IV is responsible for assisting licensed technologists in specimen analysis where interpretive decision-making or judgment is not required. In addition to technical duties the technician may also be required to perform various clerical duties and perform phlebotomy on patients ranging in age from newborns to geriatrics. Rotates shifts holidays and weekends as needed. Duties and responsibilities may be added deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management following written notice.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three or more years of full-time laboratory experience.

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions exactly.

  • Must demonstrate and promote teamwork.

  • Must be able to work in a calm and conscientious manner under high volume and STAT conditions.

  • Basic communication skills and the ability to be caring and personable with patients are mandatory.

  • Rigid accuracy in the identification of patient names and numbers and the ability to perform phlebotomy successfully using established procedures on patients of all ages are essential qualifications.

  • Must complete required continuing education requirements to maintain State CPT I Certification

  • Must have a valid and current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate (CT PHLEBOT)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of standard laboratory terminology

Pay Range

$30.45 - $36.41 /hour
