Responsibilities

Under general supervision the Transcriber interprets and transcribes with a high degree of accuracy dictation involving a substantial amount of medical terminology in radiology by physicians regarding radiographic procedures breast biopsies ultrasound bone density mammography in order to document patient care to facilitate delivery of healthcare services and comply with standards of documentation mandated by state and federal regulatory agencies and voluntary accrediting agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year experience after completion of college based Transcription course

  • Two years work experience in an acute care hospital.

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

  • Ability to accurately type 75 words per minute

  • Ability to effectively work with computers.

  • Certified Medical Transcriptionist

Preferred Requirements:

  • (CMT) preferred

Qualifications

Must have at least one year of recent experience as an ORT II (or equivalent) or be a recent graduate of an ORT II (or equivalent) training program (minimum one semester). 1-2 years of experience with a minimum of 1 year in area of related field Minimum of 3-5 years combined experience in healthcare industry Complete annual safety training. Complete and maintain department specific training. Must be in good physical and mental health. Ability to maintain emotional control in times of stress and to continue to perform appropriately. Must have American Heart Association BLS certification.Certification as ORT/Surgical Technologist

Pay Range

$50.16 - $56.25 /hour
