Responsibilities

Provides support to families with children prenatal through five years of age who have been identified by assessment as having multiple risk factors that could increase risk of possible child abuse or neglect. Families receive support services largely through home visitation prenatally and/or at the birth of their child through year five. Important aspects of service include parent education, developmental assessment, role-modeling, knowledge of and referral to community resources, advocacy, emotional support and record keeping.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work or a health-related field and one year of experience in a Human Service field with experience in child development, mental health, education or social work

  • Demonstrated commitment to primary prevention

  • Demonstrated ability working with families

  • Ability to effectively utilize community resources

  • Ability to listen in a non-judgmental manner to discuss and resolve problems, while providing emotional support

  • Positive role-modeling and teaching skills

  • Ability to exercise flexibility and patience

  • Must be able to utilize a team approach

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's license, provide proof of automobile insurance and have reliable transportation to make home visits

  • Basic computer literacy

  • AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • AHA BLS

Preferred

  • Spanish language skills

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range

$22.35 - $30.73 /hour
