Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Acts as a visionary leader and internal consultant for total quality management. The position works in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer to plan, organize, direct and communicate quality activities for Mercy Medical Center, including medical staff, nursing and ancillary services. This position coordinates and aligns activities at Mercy Medical Center in conjunction with regional and national CHI service line strategy and processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists with the preparation of reports for SAH PI, Infection Prevention, Quality activities & results.

  • Abstracts and submits data for SAH PI, Infection Prevention, Quality Activities, CHI, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.

  • Provides staff support for Quality Council.

  • Assists staff and physicians in achieving Quality Goals.

  • Supports and assists with reporting Infection data.

  • Assists with tracking compliance with National Patient Safety Goals & educates accordingly.

  • Assists with Sentinel Event root cause analysis and reporting (as appropriate).

  • Assists with compliance initiatives for state and federal regulations.

  • Performs internal chart reviews for quality assurance as directed.

  • Performs other duties within the scope of his/her job.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current Oregon State Registered Nursing License

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Thorough knowledge of PI/QI processes and environment

  • Expert abilities with data bases, presentation, computer skills, superior communication, and conflict management skills.

  • Strong ability to motivate, influence, and persuade.

  • Excellent physician relations skills and ability to successfully interact with all internal and external SAH publics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five (5) years of acute care experience

  • Accreditation and Regulatory requirements

  • BSN

  • CPHG (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) certifiation

Pay Range

$43.08 - $65.24 /hour
