Responsibilities

Job Summary:

To assist in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structures and associated equipment of all hospital properties in good repair. Assist with mechanical repairs boilers generators heating and cooling repair and other duties relating maintenance are the primary duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Facility Services Department.

  • Assist in maintaining and repairing HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.

  • Performs urgent corrective routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical mechanical and plumbing systems as required.

  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and repair on all patient room related furnishings beds plumbing fixtures TV’s and other duties as required.

  • As required assists with emergency generator systems. Inspects and tests equipment / systems.

  • Performs preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and complies with all building safety codes. This includes facility equipment and associated controls.

  • Maintains routine records of all inspections preventative maintenance and repairs on any equipment or systems.

  • Performs manual duties as requested (i.e. moving supplies or furniture replacing light bulbs removing trash or scrap material).

  • Reads blueprints interprets instructions and prepares specifications.

  • Respond to emergency calls both during normal working hours and off-shift hours in an expedient manner.

  • Assists in replacing installing repairing and testing electrical circuits equipment and appliances and lighting systems as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Any equipment combination of training and/or experienceEmployee must take a CPO class (Certified Pool Operator) and pass the exam within 60 days of hire. This class (online or in person) will be paid by the employer. You will learn how to:

  • Reduce risks in and around the water

  • Prevent drowning recreational water illness suction entrapment evisceration diving accidents electrocutions chemical hazards and slips and falls

  • Address regulatory guidelines

  • Maintain disinfection and water balance

  • Manage water problems

  • Perform troubleshooting chemical testing and record keeping

  • Manage chemical feed

  • Utilize automation and technology

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • None

Required Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to read and write legibly.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff.

  • Have a good knowledge and mechanical aptitude for using and repairing various types of mechanical equipment.

  • Ability to read blueprints understands simple drawings and written instructions.

  • Must be familiar with fire alarms and signal systems.

  • Must be able to work alone and with others under normal supervision and in observance of safety precautions and be able to see the needs of others and complete talks without reminders or prompting

  • Good mathematical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare related mechanical work experience

Pay Range

$20.62 - $28.35 /hour
