Responsibilities
Demonstrates efficient and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions in order to facilitate smooth operations. Functions in compliance with department, facility, and regulatory agency safety policy and procedure
Analyzes and inspects floor/carpeted areas appropriately and determines proper cleaning techniques per department guidelines
Performs maintenance tasks to ensure all carpet and hard flooring are maintained on a scheduled basis according to departmental standards
Cleans floors and all other areas using cleaning procedures as outlined in the orientation and department policy and procedures manual. Uses appropriate solutions for cleaning and disinfecting area to be cleaned. Cleans discharge rooms to zero defects
Handles chemicals and solutions per departmental/MSDS standards with no more than one incident of error noted annually. Ensures all chemicals are in properly labeled containers at all times, uses each chemical for its intended use
Reports immediately any equipment needing repair or any unsafe conditions to supervisor
Cleans assigned carts and equipment daily, ensuring all items are consistently returned in an orderly fashion
Replenishes supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, etc. and brings supplies and equipment to appropriate areas as needed
Uses personal protective equipment daily. Cleans and sanitizes after blood and body fluid spills as needed which includes observing and following Isolation Techniques per Infection Control policy and procedures daily and maintains clean sanitary equipment.
Adheres to safety regulations as outlined in departmental policies, facility and Joint Commission guidelines which includes placement of wet floor signage as appropriate
Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively when dealing with members of the organization
Utilizes appropriate department chain of command in resolving complaints, grievances or problems
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in a professional manner
Qualifications
One year recent work experience
Previous housekeeping, floor care & carpet care experience particularly in a health care setting, is preferred
High School Diploma/ GED preferred
Pay Range
$10.07- $12.30 /hour
