Responsibilities

Summary

This position oversees the operations of large multi-site Clinical Engineering (CE) Department for the purpose of providing a quality, cost effective program that meets or exceeds the particular quality and financial expectations of large accounts and CommonSpirit Health’s National Clinical Engineering Program. This position is responsible for providing the customer with an aggressive clinical engineering program that lowers their annual maintenance cost, increases equipment life cycles, and above all, provides the highest level of customer service. This position provides assistance with technology assessments, capital equipment purchasing, equipment safety and life cycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees CE Department-quarterly department head visits, delivers client reports, provides working environment that meets OSHA & Joint Commission guidelines, maintains all performance indicators

  • Ensures financial performance of department-capital asset planning & purchasing, attain all expense budgets and cost containment targets, manages all POs, invoices, and financial details to appropriate sources

  • Manages technical personnel-recruitment, training, & development, midyear & annual performance evaluations

  • Ensures smooth communications and reporting to and from all appropriate administrators, including weekly reports to Regional Director

  • Contract Management

  • Analyze Program Cost to Equipment Value Ratio

  • Modality Management-responsible for management of high end imaging equipment such as CT, MRI, Radiation Therapy, and Cathlabs

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center (Omaha, NE)

Creighton University Medical Center (CUMC) – Bergan Mercy, a member of the CHI Health network, is a 396 bed Academic Medical Center in Omaha, NE, featuring a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center. CUMC focuses on Cancer Care, Heart and Vascular Care, Neurosurgery, and Women’s Health. CUMC has the largest, most modern ICU in the region and has a new ED and Clinical Decision and Treatment Unit. As a Biomedical Technician in this facility you will be part of our Clinical Engineering team that manages 16,800 assets across a wide spectrum of modalities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field

  • 5 years of experience as a CE Manager

  • Financial management skills

  • Working knowledge of all elements of National CE Program and/or industry standard clinical engineering management

  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications (i.e., CBET, CHTM)

  • Bachelor’s Degree

$51.89 - $68.10 /hour
