Physician Fellow - Family Practice Resident Program

Northridge Hospital Medical Center

The Northridge Hospital Medical Center Family Medicine Physician Fellowship Program is a comprehensive program that provides fellows with the opportunity to develop expertise in all aspects of sports medicine. In the course of this training the fellow will care for patients under the supervision of attending physicians in the outpatient setting with a main focus on primary care sports medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Attends and actively participates in Fellowship and Residency educational activities (when required).

  • Participates in residency and institutional committees, especially those that relate to patient care review activities (when required).

  • Provides teaching to residents and medical students participating in residency sponsored activities.

  • Assist in the evaluation of Residents' progress and effecting corrective teaching as needed.

  • Assisting in Program accreditation activities.

  • Develops a plan of care and delivers high quality patient care.

  • Participates in effective and compassionate patient care.

  • Provides patient care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Provides consistent clinical and teaching responsibilities during the work day.

  • Provide supervision and training of Residents by providing personal instruction in lectures, seminars, rounds, clinics and preparation of materials.

  • Maintains all appropriate charts and records for patients in accordance with sound medical practice and all governing laws, rules and regulations.

  • Never abandons patients in need of care, in either inpatient or outpatient settings.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate of Medicine required. Completion of ACGME Family Medicine Residency.

  • State of California medical license, DEA license, Board Certification.

  • Must have demonstrated ability as a clinician capable of supervising residents and be actively involved in the care of patients.

  • Devote sufficient time to the residency program to fulfill the administrative and teaching responsibilities inherent in achieving the educational goals of the program.

  • Must have a specific commitment to patient care maintaining the clinical skills and serving as role models for resident-physicians.

  • MD License

  • Fire Safety Card (CT FIRESAF) must be obtained within 90 days of start date.

Pay Range

$26.39 - $38.27 /hour
