Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and provide technical support in for endoscopic GI and Pulmonary patient care. The Supervisor is accountable for the technical staff supervision, performance of the endoscopic technical daily operations, patient throughput, supply inventory and management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and policies, equipment manufacturer instruction for use (IFUS), and Pulmonary training and competencies . Responsible for other duties delegated from the Endoscopy Director.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages technical day to day needs of Endoscopy Lab including patient throughput, collaboration with physicians and others to complete scheduled procedures

  • Assist with hiring, evaluating, performance, disciplinary actions, and coaching of the technical endoscopy staff in conjunction with endoscopy leadership

  • Assist with training and yearly mandatory technical competencies and education of the endoscopy staff

  • Coordinates and oversees technical staff schedules, late and “on call” coverage to ensure appropriate experience and skill mix for all cases and locations

  • Responsible for maintaining properly functioning equipment, preventive maintenance, adequate supply inventory and the ordering of supply for all endoscopy locations

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and communicates via appropriate channels with Leadership Team.

  • Participates in policy creation and/or revisions of unit policies

  • Ensures quality control processes are completed and documented per hospital and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborates with Endoscopy Director on budget, new capital equipment planning, purchasing and achieving productivity standards

  • Serves as a resource to staff by active participation in trouble shooting technical issues during procedures, procedure equipment needs, supply usage, inventory and PAR levels

  • Participates in continuous monitoring and quality improvement efforts, on accreditation teams or other hospital committees

  • Assumes the role of unit Laser and Radiation Safety Officer

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Licensure:

  • RN license or Certified Endoscopy Technologist (AGTS);

  • HS Diploma/GED

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Endoscopy experience

  • Served in a leadership role by effectively working with staff, physicians, vendors, and patients

Pay Range

$26.51 - $38.44 /hour
