Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for the planning, development and maintenance of the injury prevention program along with designing, organizing, implements, and evaluating evidence-based educational programs and continuing education in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director. Scope of practice encompasses use of nursing processes in major areas: practice, education, consultation, research and administration, performance and quality improvement.

  • Responsibilities include tracking, trending, analysis and development of programs and prevention efforts.

  • Required to organize and conduct community events and actively seek out opportunities to participate in community based injury prevention groups.

  • The incumbent is responsible for knowledge driven outcomes management, advanced clinical practice, education to staff, and community. Also serves as a clinical consultant to staff, hospital administration, physician, and community.

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Will be required to work the occasional weekend and/or holiday as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Emergency/ Trauma/Critical Care required.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with ADN.

  • Licensure in the State of Nevada as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification - Nat'l

  • TNCC = CT-Trauma Nurse-Nat'l

  • TCAR = CT Trauma Care After Resuscitation, within 6 months of hire.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills.

  • High comfort level with public speaking.

  • Basic graphic design principles and desktop publishing techniques.

  • Capable of effectively handling multiple priorities.

  • Effective time management skills. Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to work independently and with diverse groups and teams.

Preferred:

  • BSN or MSN with public health experience.

  • ATCN; TCRN; ACLS; PALS certifications.

  • Experience with performance improvement, quality improvement.

  • Experience with nursing research.

  • Experience with education to broad populations including physicians and nursing.

Pay Range

$38.81 - $56.28 /hour
