Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Controller or other assigned Finance Manager the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and financial support to Financial Services for St. Rose Dominican Hospital. The Senior Financial Analyst will perform monthly financial analysis operations reviews prepare pro forma financial data maintenance and operation of the cost accounting system and financial system productivity reporting budgeting and all related tasks associated with the information as well as direct communication to and leading provision of assistance to department managers in the use of such information.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Economics Finance or Accounting

  • Requires the ability to develop working partnerships with all levels of management

  • The ability to explain the need for information and the end result of obtaining this information in clear concise terms is paramount to the success of this position

  • The ability to explain the information compiled from the cost accounting system in terms everyone can understand is paramount to the acceptance and utilization of the data

  • The ability to assist hospital managers interpret data and better manage their areas is critically important

  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods write and use computer terminal; must be able to hear and talk over the telephone and in person with others; must be able to make presentations to groups; must be able to travel to other work sites

  • Must be flexible in a demanding environment. Able to prioritize and use sound judgment. Must be able to access issues to identify the cause and plan ways to resolve issues while maintaining the dignity of others. Must be able to coordinate a variety of issues while being frequently interrupted

  • This position will have a critical financial impact to the success of the hospital. The ability to produce necessary information timely and accurately will enable all levels of management to make better decisions. The sensitivity of this data needs to be handled carefully

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Must also possess a strong working knowledge of personal computers and related software

  • Must be detail oriented yet still able to see and understand the larger picture and should display critical-thinking skills

  • Must be able to work efficiently and resourcefully in a fast paced deadline driven environment

  • Candidate will be required to prove they have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of relevant Finance experience preferably in a health care environment along with a strong working knowledge of finance cost accounting and productivity reporting

  • Advanced degree

Pay Range

$32.08 - $46.51 /hour
