Overview
Work in the heart of #humankindess at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake as a full-time CNA floating between Med/Surg and Emergency.
The Certified Nursing Assistant contributes to positive patient experiences by performing nursing care tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical nurse, facilitating communication, and providing general clerical and administrative assistance to the unit. This position supports the mission, vision, and core values of CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake.
You'll thrive in this role by assisting with exceptional care for patients of all ages (neonates/infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics) with activities of daily living.
CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital accredited by The Joint Commission licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services for participation in the Medicare Program. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Lake Region area and surrounding communities since 1902.
Responsibilities
Delivers direct patient care as delegated including but not limited to oral cares, bathing, transferring, repositioning, feeding, and providing direct supervision for patients requiring it.
Communicates and works cooperatively with nursing staff by reporting observations, serving as a liaison between patient and nurse, and updating other staff members through shift report.
Measures and documents accurately and at the time of occurrence vital signs, input and output, weights, procedures, personal care, activities of daily living, specimens as directed, observations, dietary intake, and ambulation.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction of the Charge Nurse and Patient Care Manager.
Assumes routine coordination of clerical activities under the direction of department leadership and nurses on duty, including answering and routing phone calls, stocking supplies, communicating new orders and test results to pertinent staff, and locating charts and forms as requested.
Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
North Dakota Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS).
Preferred:
Previous healthcare experience is desired.
Computer experience.

Pay Range
$15.56 - $21.40 /hour
