The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976 we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and four cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. Responsibilities
This position is for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.
Essential Responsibilities:
Obtain medical histories when necessary.
Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
Order diagnostic test.
Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
Assure charts are signed off by the physician within 7 days.
Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.
Make follow up calls to check patients progress.
Assist doctors with phone coverage and hospital rounds.
Work, closely with other nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.
Consult with physician regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.
Qualifications
Education:
- Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid Tennessee APN and RN license.
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
Pay Range
$48.26 - $58.88/hour
