Overview

As our Medical Surgical Nurse at CHI Carrington Medical Center, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience. In our Critical Access Hospital you will be exposed to the emergency department, acute care (Med/Surg), swing bed, surgery outpatient treatment, and so much more!

You'll thrive in the role by providing professional and compassionate nursing care to a variety of patients encountered in a multidisciplinary nursing setting. Patient population groups include children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. You'll perform and document assessments; ensure health history is completed; individualize patient care plans and ensure that interventions or referrals are made; identifies discharge planning/education needs that may include supervising the transfer of patients to a different level of care.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Except to deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift

  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation

  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging

Qualifications

  • Registered Nursing Degree from an approved school of nursing.

  • Licensed Registered North in the State of North Dakota or compact license holder that allows you to practice in North Dakota.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • PALS, ACLS and TNCC to be obtained within six (6) months.

Pay Range

$30.55 - $44.3 /hour
